Hood Canal Wedding at Alderbrook Resort

Obsessed beyond words.

Kayten & Kelby have a family cabin nearby Alderbrook resort, which made this location even more special and nostalgic to them. After waiting an extra year for their wedding (thanks, COVID) they really wanted to capture the essence of the whole weekend, so I love that we included coverage of their day-before welcome dinner/rehearsal.

If you are planning a destination wedding, I highly recommend formatting your weekend in a way that allows you to embrace as much of the environment as you can. Kayten and Kelby had their rehearsal onsite and then took a gorgeous boat ride throughout the Hood canal to another waterfront venue nearby, which was such a fun way to spend extra time with family and friends before the hustle and bustle of the wedding day. I mean, cocktails on a boat to get the party started is basically the way to go.

The venue itself, Alderbrook Resort & Spa, is absolutely stunning, I mean…you’ll see. I love how many different locations they were able to utilize.

The groom and groomsmen got ready in a nearby cottage (the quaintest little space close to the water), the bride and bridesmaids had two hotel rooms to themselves (and a great vantage point of the property to monitor set-up activities), the ceremony and cocktail hour were on the lawn at sunset, the reception dinner was in a perfectly curated tent, and finally the reception partayyy was inside on the dance floor. Honestly, it was perfect. AND a photographers dream because…hello, variety!

I need to highlight these freakin’ shoes because I fully manifested them. These Loeffler Randal heels have been on my wishlist FOREVER and I about freaked out when I waked in and saw them on the table. Stunnninngggg (& linked below).
